The Sky radio channels are definitely not in the Tune In app, when I activated my Sky Box I got a credit for the month of the radio packages, I assume they will not be available for the new sky box subscribers ?

I've just spent 90 minutes listening to how many places I was in the queue, to talk to sky.

I've reinstated my old decoder at an additional cost per month, but that'll keep the missus happy. 😆
Eventually I'll wean her off the old one, but in the meantime it'll be "his and hers".

The lady from Sky was not aware that the radio and music channels were not available in the new box and was going to get back to me. When she does, Ill pass on the info.

Just in the few hours I've played around with the "new box", I can't say I'm massively impressed with it and given the choice of "upgrading" or not after trying it, I probably wouldn't have.  If you got people in your house who aren't gadget minded especially with tablets and computers, it's pretty clunky getting around all the functions.

That's my tuppenceworth.

Does the new box stay on all the time like the old one did?

If I turn on the TV will the channel show up straight away or do I need to select it again

That's all at this stage

Have not tested the box being left alone, however if you switch it off it will return to the last channel you watched, if you are watching an app like Netflix it goes back to TV.

I know none of Sky's content plays in 4K but can you play Netflix ok in 4K?

What type of HDMI Splitter do you have?

I pay for the 4K content from Netflix yet I cannot get it in 4K using the Sky Box. I can get it using the smart TV features i.e. switching input to built-in Android TV. What gives please?

same and i also lose the spatial Audio on the Sky Box

Just tried Prime and you cant watch it anything in UHD as it doesnt show.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I play 4k content on Netflix through my 4K Apple TV beautiful image, not relying on the Sky box to do any 4k viewing or even 2k and HD

i can use my 4k Smart tv apps to do the same but it defeats the purpose of having 1 box and 1 remote to do everything. If it cant watch Streaming sites in 4k what is point of replacing the old My Sky

I totally agree with you

This may be a weird reason to replace my Sky HDi box is that the new Bluetooth remote should work in the 2 bedrooms that I have cabled Sky to over a CAT6 to HDMI splitter, currently I have extenders for remote control and never works 90% of the time from the other rooms, other than watching the Satellite channels I use everything else on the Apple TV, one in each room x3

ok i am already to send the new box back unless there is some way to limit what you record on series link. I record the IPL and with the old box you pressed record on the live games and linked them so it would record every live game, easy . On the new box it not only records the live games it records everything ,so i get every game highlights and every replay of full matches. i take it it is the same for the EPL matches and the NRL. in fact any sports.

ok even more annoying it doesnt cancel everything if you cancel the main one, you have to go through the whole planner to cancel the recordings

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I think some of what you’ve said is just series-link being really primitive, or somewhat random service from those who run the back end. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve contacted Sky about how haphazard that function has become (I reckon it started OK). I mainly use it for sport and it’s useful for big series on SoHo etc, but if you try it on series broadcast on the documentary channels, you often get the same thing over and over and over……

Don't get me started with Series link, I don't know if things have changed since 10 years ago but I would go to the guide to Series link shows and half of them never had the Series link icon so I rang Sky for a please explain and was told it a tedious operation and needed to be done manually and a lot are missed out, but just ring us if it's not there and will add it for you, yeh right, I have better things to do with my time than ringing Sky to Series link.

Never used it since!!

why have they removed some of the best features of the My Sky box, i found you cant keep watching your program while you are in the planner , really annoying.

After a few hours with the new box i have had enough and i dont even want to talk about how annoying and fiddly the remote is with my big fingers , i keep ending up where i dont want to be and have to start again .

If you pull out the sat coax while watching sky sport...does it continue or swap to backup "stream"

What a shame if it doesnt, this would solve rainfade outages and help phase out needing a dish

I thought the "need" for a dish was what allowed recording of programmes onto a hard drive - not withstanding what content creators wanted- due to some the findings of a court case in the USA years ago.
