Would be handy if they started a thread of requested feature enhancements that we could offer thoughts to.

Once again, the Skypod is useless. It won't let me restart a game while it is still playing. It has occasionally before but I guess I will have to wait until the game finishes to start watching....totally useless piece of technology!

Why doesn't someone hook it up and monitor it in wireshark? and see where the update is coming from etc? I would love to know if they are using the skygo streamms on the skypod device.

With the new Sky Box how can you tell if it’s had a new update and where to look for this information within the settings

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Has anyone had any luck getting it to work with their Samsung TVs One remote? CEC is enabled and the old box used to work well with it. Saves the pain of using...and losing 2 remotes again.

CEC is working, almost completely, with my Sony remote. The Play and pause buttons don't work though, which is a real pain! I've had it a while and can't remember if I needed to turn CEC on in the Sky box. I did make sure that the CEC was detectd by the Sony TV by reviewing the CEC settings in there with the Sky box turned on.

Weird. CEC was working with my Sky Pod and Panasonic TV but for some reason it stopped working after a recent Pod update. CEC still works with my other connected devices, but I haven’t been able to get the Pod to work again no matter what I’ve tried.

If a new update is available, you'll see a message that says "Update available" on the panel when you open the panel by selecting the bell icon at the top of the screen. More info on https://help.sky.co.nz/s/article/New-Sky-Box-FAQs#tech_help. I hope this help.

With the old box you could jump into a recording by a user selected amount of minutes. Eg 234 minutes. I couldn't do this on the new box and had to use the 64x fast forward.

Has anyone found how to jump into a recording without fast forwarding?

Cheers

This is how I feel the UI should look like. Feel free to comment. My take is that there's no value add to the TV service. It's just an old Sky box put into an Android TV box, which when they are separate devices, it would have worked just fine. As a trial customer for 3 months now, I've not been asked about my experience and feedback so far. The pictures you see are just an idea and if this was an actual prototype, I would have polished it a bit but it's been a 1 way communication system so far. I also have a list of problems with the New Sky Box and I can't believe they are actually starting to take public interest. This product is far from functional.

Those with the new box, how has your recording performance been?
Mine has been pretty bad, either recording it in multiple recordings, not extending the recording if it goes over time (NBL), saying it recorded something and it is not even the right thing (this happened with the F1 Sprint Shootout if anyone had this to record? I got half a game of live netball and then live tennis).
I read people are having trouble with the series link recording Everything, so I went through the weekend to record what I wanted.. Only a couple recorded correctly.
Between this and the good features I used to use frequently now gone, it's almost tempting to go back to the old one.

I'm thinking about not returning the old box until I see if they sort the new one out and bring back all the old functionality.
