If I dropped Sky satellite, the issue I would have is that apparently not all sport has full replays, based on a recent comment here. If one didn't Id have to watch it within 24 hours with the rollback? Could I do that on ATV4?
On both Android and Google TV, the app allows for you to go back in time through the TVGuide, I would assume that it would be the same on the ATV as well. Not all sports are covered in the ondemand world, it will depend on Skys contract I'd imagine, but most of their new stuff (F1, EPL etc.) seems to have online as well as on demand enabled.
I would note that if the content is provided by a third party, e.g. BEin, then its not available on demand, only via the Guide and 24 hour rewind... The FA Cup being one of those examples.
dougierydal:I have slammed SSN for it's poor pic quality and it was a hell of a surprise when I watched the A-League the other week and was immediately struck by the difference, look forward to watching some cricket, as that's been a tough watch at times. So kudos finally to Sky for sorting that.
The one thing I wish they'd change is the 30secs forward and backwards, if you want to rewind and watch a piece of play or something you missed, 30secs is way too long, no idea why they dont have it at the standard 10secs...

No, it only allow you to go back 24 hrs, and seemingly they randomly decide what is up a replay or not, i might be doing them a disservice as i rarely look for anything other than within that 24 hr window, and it's now habit, rather than looking within their UI for something
I was about to sign up for a month just to give it a go and compare it to Kayo. Now that the quality has been sorted there are a lot of positives to SSN so I was prepared to give it a go.
However I've come across another negative and that's only 1 concurrent stream at a time. I have no interest in sharing passwords so that's not an issue but my wife and I occasionally watch different sports in different rooms or I just like to have the golf playing on a couple of TVs around the house while I'm doing chores on a Sunday morning. That way I can keep an eye on what's going on while doing laundry or other house work in different rooms.
They really need to allow 2 concurrent streams, even if it is locked to the same address to avoid password sharing.

Thanks for that. I watch sport, and with golf that could be hours or days later. if ALL sport was catchup I could be interested, but I will stick to what "just works"
Others YMMV

I also watch the golf, but I very rarely watch something days later. Often I will watch the final round of the golf on a Monday night when I get home from work. If I haven't watched it by then I will just catch some highlights on Youtube.
I also had a look around the SSN website and it looks like the final round of most tournaments meet the criteria for a full on demand replay. That's all I would need as I would never go back and watch round 2/3 after the final round has been played.
Well I've decided to give it a go. I've paused my Kayo subscription and signed up for a month of SSN to trial it. If it works out I will buy an annual pass which will work out about the same price as I was paying for Kayo per month.
Early days yet but here are some early impressions.
We'll see how it goes after the 1st month before I decide to stay with it.

- Local provider so no need to mess around with geo unblocking
- Now that Spark Sport has gone, Sky Sport has a lot of sport in one place (Rugby, golf, F1 and Supercars, EPL etc...)
- A lot of these sports are split in AU across Kayo, Stan and Optus.

Yes, this is bloody annoying, when you have teenage kids in the house, both of whom have TV's in their room, there's frequently times when 2 of us (sometimes 3) want to watch either the same thing or different things at the same time. I'm sure even Sky's isn't thinking the solution is having to buy two subscriptions to get around this, two streams should be the minimum, with higher pricing tiers for more concurrent streams, which is exactly what Kayo do.
They appear to be stuck in their outdated 'Multi-room' set up mode even when it comes to streaming.
Wakrak:Decided to do some random Sky Sports Now discount code searching the other day. 10% off monthly passes with code WAIKARAKA10 (10% offer applies until the end of May 2023).

Has anyone else had an issue with being repeatedly signed out? While watching the premier league this morning I've been signed out about 5-6 times in the middle of watching a live game. The games stops, the screen goes black and then returns me to the main screen where I need to log back in again to watch anything. Bloody frustrating.

YES! This drives me insane, happens maybe 3-4 times a week, not 5-6 during a game, but is the only app I have across multiple Apple ID's from 3-4 different countries that does this.
Just got off a chat session.
After them telling me to complete all normal troubleshooting (turn the device off and on again). Their final advice was that I need to log out of the app on 1 TV before I go and start another session on another TV. I know they only allow one concurrent stream but surely I don't need to log out after each session so I can watch sports on another TV?
