Hi,
I'm just wanting to see if anyone can help me understand this 'problem' I've noticed on Sky Sport.
I am subscribed to Sky Sport Now to watch F1, Cricket etc, which I'm fairly happy with.
However, I have noticed the following 'issue' when it comes to the pop-up channels for endurance racing, namely the FIA WEC 6 hours of Spa starting at 10:45pm tonight (29/04/2023).
On Sky Sport Now, I get channels 1-7, premier league (8), 9, Select, ESPN/ESPN2 and Pop-up 1.
The WEC race is nowhere to be seen on any of the channels, but if I look at the TV guide for Sky Go, they are showing the race on Pop-up 2.
I fail to understand why the race is shown on traditional Sky (satellite) and the Sky Go app on Pop-up 2, but Pop-up 2 channel is not available throught the Sky Sport Now streaming platform.
It's incredibly frustrating that there is gatekeeping of this content through the traditional Sky platform.
The same thing for the previous race at Sebring for WEC in March of this year.
My questions are these:
Why is the Pop-up 2 channel only available through traditional Sky (satellite) and Sky Go, but not through Sky Sport Now?
It seems unfair and counter-intuitive that it is this way.
I would appreciate some clarification on this matter.
Thank you.

sonyxperiageek: Anyone else watching Sky Sport Now on mobile (I'm playing it on a P30 Pro myself) notice the pictures are never smooth, like it's playing at 5 frames a second? Audio is smooth though. It's pretty unwatchable. Not just live TV but even just selecting a highlights video for example.

Has anyone else had an issue with being repeatedly signed out? While watching the premier league this morning I've been signed out about 5-6 times in the middle of watching a live game. The games stops, the screen goes black and then returns me to the main screen where I need to log back in again to watch anything. Bloody frustrating.
YES! This drives me insane, happens maybe 3-4 times a week, not 5-6 during a game, but is the only app I have across multiple Apple ID's from 3-4 different countries that does this.
I noticed this again yesterday during a replay of the Tottenham v Crystal Palace game, it just logged me out about 30 odd mins in. I then have to go through the whole procedure of re-logging back in, then finding roughly where I'm up to in the game - painful!
It's the only Apple TV app I have that I've ever had this with, including similar apps such as SparkSport, and Kayo
Both of my teens have my logins, I wonder if when they try and login when I'm watching something if that's what triggers it?
According to their FAQ if you start a stream on another device while you have an active session going then it shouldn't log you out, it should just stop streaming on the original device. Most likely just end the stream and push you back the home screen.
I haven't tested this but that is what their FAQ says.
I haven't had a repeat of this since I first reported it. I did raise a ticket to which I got not resolution from.

I can't explain why but their FAQ page clearly states that Pop-up channel 2 is not available on SSN and to check schedules before signing up.
Sky Sport Now gives you access to 13 channels - Sky Sport channels 1-9, ESPN, ESPN2, Sky Sport Select and Sky Sport Pop-up 1. Sky Sport Pop Up 2 is not available on Sky Sport Now. So please check schedules before signing up.
Which would be fine if their schedules didn't keep changing all the time. Its bloody frustrating when you watch the first 3 days of golf and then they put the final day on Pop-up 2!

Hi Team - I watch SSN mainly on Apple TV (secondly on Google TV in the bedroom for early morning games).
I have an issue that hit me twice in the weekend watching Crusaders vs Western Force.
I paused the game for a slightly extended period (Maybe a couple of minutes). When I clicked play it thought for a minute and then jumped to live - This does my head in as if I look at the score it ruins the game.
I know at times they bring up the jump to live button that seems to react to any click on the remote at all but thats normally just when you start a program from the guide.
At least its "relatively" easy to just back to where you were up to and otherwise I find if I just watch a game start to finish it'll play flawlessly and I'm really happy with the quality.
In general their implementation of the oddball Apple TV remote is a little weak in general.
Anyone else seeing delayed watching suddenly jump to live??
PS - I have the 1st gen Siri remote which is dreadful - Tempted to get the newer gen but $100 for the remote is criminal.

We'll see how it goes after the 1st month before I decide to stay with it.
Quoting my own post here....
But after a month of trialling SSN I've decided to go back to Kayo.
Kayo isn't perfect by any means but it is designed first and foremost as an on demand sports streaming platform. Whereas SSN is simply linear TV that broadcast over IP. Not having proper access to full replays instantly and being able to choose from multiple sports simultaneously was frustrating me.
For example the PGA Championship this weekend. SSN have the main broadcast as does Kayo but Kayo also have a featured groups and featured holes stream that you can watch instead of the main stream. SSN will olso play the LPGA delayed after the PGA tour coverage ends. Kayo you can watch either live.
That means I'm giving up the Rugby and EPL which to be honest, I've hardly watched in the last month.

Re golf, typically Sky do have featured groups as seperate feeds to the main feed. and if LPGA overlaps that's usually Live on another channel. With regards to the PGA Championship, being a Major, thats not a standard PGA event, its managed by another system, hence the LIV players are there. It might be a rights issue

The LPGA event is often pushed to Sky Sports Popup 2 which isn't available on SSN.
quickymart:Coincidence, or...?
Well, the Football Champions League will now be on Sky. The final is on tonight and that will be Spark's last game.
LFC aren't in ECL next season but will be on Sky. At least something to watch, midweek.
After countless letters and hours of phone calls, I've now got my old sky box back - yipee!! Sky sent a technician to install, well needed them to activate the box's card. They took the 'new 'box with them. I'll be keeping track of progress on the new box.
