code15: The new on demand feature is very cool. I think this is exactly what sky needs to save itself.

There's always going to be a need for live TV (news, sports etc) but now they've got on-demand TV and movies to match Netflix.

I dont have the movie package - can you give me an idea as to how many movies are available ondemand (as opposed to Sky Box Office)?

Sorry - no need.  Realised that I can browse through the list of ondemand movies without having a Movie subscription.

Did the update trick this morning, and then had a quick scan of on demand - noticed that Fear of the Walking Dead was marked as Soho (on-demand), which I guess I won't be able to watch as I don't subscribe to Soho. It normally airs on Prime and I can watch via Catchup online as part of basic package. What I'm trying to say is looks like for Basic package subscirbers it might be a bit limited - but at least it's a start.

Perhaps it'll only be available after the series has finished on Prime?  There might be restrictions on which "window" it can be released online.
I noticed Hell on Wheels Series 5, which has finished on Soho isnt available at all.  Either episodes or box set.  It'll be a timing thing.
Somethings have never been aired, are available on Neon and now suddenly available ondemand.  Atlantis series 1 and 2 for example.

It must be summer as my Sky reception now routinely goes AWOL during the afternoon and early evening (atmospheric conditions, it seems too much sky is a problem for Sky). It did this all last summer too.
Can you use the internet connection to watch "live" Sky for when the dish goes out?

Why not just call SKY and book a job.  Sounds like your LNB is dying.

Which is what I did last year, but they wouldnt do anything, just said it was normal and to "reboot" the unit when it happened.
They said because it was working at night there cant be anything wrong with the equipment.
So hooray for built-in Freeview.
Now I am with Vodafone+Sky (not VodafoneTV!) so I'm not even sure who I would call.

If you have a Sky branded decoder you still call sky for technical support (0800 759 759) and Vodafone for billing support, if you have a Vodafone (or Telstraclear) branded decoder call Vodafone for support (0800 438 448)

You call Sky. I had them out three times in 6 months for signal issues, it was never a problem to get someone out.

It sounds like you have got one of the 100's of faulty LNB from a few years back (They were the duel LNB's).  They leak and fill with water, as they get hot with the sun in the afternoon you get the "Atmospheric Conditions" sign.  Once the LNB has cooled down at night normal service is resumed.  You need to ring Sky and get it changed and your problem will go away.

Try using the words "ongoing issues" and "look at the notes on my account" and " can I speak to a team leader if you can't help"

I deleted a recent post because I got the forced update trick sorted.

An LNB that my grandmother got installed when she first got SKY in 2016 died and fried all the ports back in October, so these LNBs are not the best quality in my opinion, not too sure how this new one would last. Do they still supply the Sharp ones?
