Yep, the update is live on my Apple TV, quick first impressions... it seems much more responsive and though I am not certain, a more native feeling Apple TV app that the previous version. Seems like a big improvement.

Still the same crap quality of picture and poor ui once you get in to the sports section... they should really just take the old spark Sport interface and modify that, at least that looked better and worked well... yet despite my comments I had already bought an annual pass /sigh.

It self updated on myFire TV which is very interesting. Previously Sky told me that FireTV was not supported. Now the FAQ https://www.welcome.skysportnow.co.nz/faq says FireTV is supported. I may have had to resort to a Matt Huisman customised version...

Looks like a good update. Much more responsive to controls on Apple TV.

I really wish they would use the native Apple TV video controls though. They used them in Neon eventually so maybe it’s in the pipeline?

I noticed they didn’t fix the search yet either. It only finds play lists and videos. There is no way to search upcoming programming (unless I’m missing something).
It’s also white lettering on a light background is not the best either.

Hoping people may be able to help: Dont mind the look of the new app, however have started having 2 very weird issues

1) 2 weeks ago, when selecting any show on the tv guide, when selecting "view from start", the show always starts 6 or 7 minutes in and i have no ability to rewind to the start, so im missing the very start of the show. I have checked this on 3 different devices and both a fixed and wireless network but the problem persists.

2) The new app installed itself on my TV a couple of nights ago and i thought it looked good. However, when selecting anything to watch, it takes forever to buffer and when it does eventually start, i get 10 seconds of viewing until it buffers again. This only happens on the TV, the phone app is fine.

Some details: im on gig fibre, my TV is an LG C9 oled from 2019 (i think) and it runs every other streaming service without any issues. It was running this perfectly as well for the last few months.

TV is connected to router via ethernet, but does the same on wifi.

Dont want to have to watch the Wahs on my laptop (or worse browser on the TV), but may have too...

Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling from scratch?

Sorry yes, meant to say I have deleted and reinstalled. Have rebooted tv, checked the tv clock in case the app reads off that, but think it's pretty much app related. Did wonder about the memory in my tv as well but it's got heaps so I just don't know.
Thanks for your suggestion

I've got the same issue as you. I went through my emails, and actually had a similar issue last year at the same sort of time, aligning with their new app, and eventually they resolved this. I've found I have to cast to my TV for proper picture, else I'm endlessly buffering, it's horrendous.

I'm also on Fibre max, however with a Samsung TV.

I've flicked off yet another email to their support team to ensure they get some eyes on this, as casting is a pain when there is an application on the TV itself!

From the update mid this week,, I have also been getting the "view from start" issue where it starts 6 or so minutes in. I can't even rewind back prior to that point.

Frustrating tonight when I went to start the Warriors pre game show at 7.40 and planned to fast forward the ads

Same buffering issues here - Panasonic TV.

No buffering issues on chromecast (off their website), but disappointing the TV's app isn't performing well.

New variation on the same issue has appeared.

So seems that they have mostly resolved the buffering as i am now able to watch content on the tv app, but now the UI overlay appears at random times every few minutes. This normally happens when there is a buffering issue, however it would appear as if the issue lasts a fraction of a second, just enough time for the app to think the stream has paused/broken.

I will take this issue over having nothing on my TV, but casting still seems to be the only consistent way to watch the content...6 seconds late!

navigating the new guide is an utter pain! To go back in time you have to navigate to that left arrow and then click it to move to the past. Again and again.........
