Johnk: Well I now have a week to test the service (Sky sport 1-4 week pass) for free.... never thought I would say this, but "Thanks Sky"

Nice! How'd you score that?

If you want to sign up for free, I believe using the promo code "FANPASSWEEK" (when selecting a week pass at fanpass.co.nz) should work for you!

So, it all seems to be working fine* here. AirPlay stream started with no hassles. I can now use this to test the ABs game tomorrow, and fall back to the delayed coverage on Prime if it all turns to custard. If it doesn't, I'll definitely be using Fan Pass in future for one off games.

A hearty thanks to bazzer for providing the code.

*Picture looks to be only slightly better than SD, but is more than watchable. YMMV :-)

I should've added the code in my post sorry. I got given that same code as above.

Had a quick 2 min vid test in the office, looks to be good quality in the small screen, but drops quality and doesn't look all that nice at full screen on a 24" monitor.
If it works OK over the weekend for All Blacks I will probably buy it in future for tests and other one offs.

I don't think its over priced at all.

It gives me what I want, where I want. And its for a whole day, or week depending on what you choose.
I know its not the same as a  PPV event but it certainly feels like good value when you compare it to a $49.99 boxing fight.

Thanks for the sign up code, just signed up and tested from work. Looks to be okay quality, not quite as good as actual Sky HD Sports itself but should be watchable. Hope my Vodafone cable connection can handle the traffic tomorrow night haha.

I'm conscious the shows on offer may not be in HD anyway whilst trying this.  Quality looks ok, so lets see how it holds up over the big game...
Thanks for the heads up on the code also.

Yeah, don't know how but I've managed to break Geekzone.  There's nothing I can edit to fix it either ... weird!

Was just about share that code on Twitter, when it dawned on me that it might not be the smartest thing to do. If Fan Pass are going to have issues due to high load, I don't really want to be encouraging users to sign up until AFTER the rugby tomorrow. :-)

I'm the other way around, in that I want to see if it gets broke easy...
