tdgeek:I follow you now, the wireless adapter. I believe that Sky OD is not true OD, in that it records to the HDD and you watch off the HDD, basically fancy and better buffering. So any dodgy wifi if that was the case, should not matter. Ill test OD tonight
Ive always maintained that SkyGo, Neon and OD are Sky's entry into that tech, for when the day comes to use it hardcore. They all had issues, they all seem to work ok, so not too hard to tidy them up for more widespread use. As it is, its a cost to Sky for no return, so little point in going bigtime money wise into what will be a future path
Yep records to hard drive, but I’’d still call it on demand as it only takes up space when want to watch it, and you have entire catalog, just where with recordings only available what recorded in past.
Wifi downloads work fine, when working. It doesn’t drop while using. It’s usually once decoder is put into standby, or a day or two later it just won’t connect to router, until Sky Box is reset.
Hopefully new CEO will sort these issues.
Otherwise I’m better just doing digital rental, $19 a decoder (Get free recording because of past deal done with Sky), as it’s seems in another thread the Freeview Panasonic recorder is having it’s own issues, and Sky one does Freeview perfect (Except Duke which is SD on Sky Box, but get Prime in HD which is SD on Freeview box.)
