Hi all,

I have a valid iSky account, but it seems I cant get the player to stream when accessing the site from London.

Any ideas? i'm thinking I need to connect a NZ VPN first, any recommendations on a good (free) one?

Cheers

Astrill has NZ server, it isn't free though.

Seems weird seen as you have to have a sky NZ account why they would bother geoblocking it.

It is geoblocked due to International digital rights agreements

Free NZ VPN service? Hah! good luck with that..
You'll have to either sign up for one or get a VPS and set up one yourself, though the later would be quite spendy

Hey guys, first post here.

I am a Kiwi living in Germany and signed up to Astrills VPN service.  Works fantastically with TVNZ ondemand, TV3, and when I change the server, Hulu, Netflix, BBC Iplayer etc.

The one that does not work is isky.

I have grabbed my parents login and proceeded to watch the live channels or the ondemand replays, but all I get is a
"the selected content is not available" message on every thing.

Astrill has an Open Web and an Open VPN option on its little program, but nothing makes a difference.  From google it seems quite a few people in New Zealand get the same message and it has something to do with DNS maybe?

Any help would be much appreciated.

can't link to Astrill as I am new here, but easily found on Mr Google.

Cheers

Sky have likely identified Astrill's IP and blocked it specifically - has been known to happen with other services / VPN providers; only way for it to be resolved would be for Astrill to change allocated IP to non-blocked.

What are you trying to watch specifically?

I just noticed the other day that the NRL is available streamed online (free by the looks of it) if you are overseas, just not in Australia or NZ...

Depending on where you are, the times might not be very social to watch live though etc.

That is annoying if they have blocked the IP.

Have raised a ticket with Astrill looking for some advice. The gave me some options to try including changing to TCP and changing the connection port. But nothing worked, still the same "selected content is not available".

Have let them know the outcome of their advice and will see what they say.

Watching Sport live is very easy to watch online with all the streams these days, but most are terrible quality. Using the UK server I watched the Wimbledon Mens Final on iplayer and it was in HD and amazing, thats what I want to use isky for, watching the Olympics and catching up on the sport I missed live.
