Hi,

If I was to downgrade mysky to standard sky without HD ticket, would sky replace the sky card itself with a 17xxx or would I keep the 45xxx and simply get the box changed and the subscription amended?

Cheers,

Chris

Probably the latter.
I have basic Sky (got it 4 yrs ago) with the small silver Pace box and a 45xxx card. Never had a 17xxx card.
Best bet is to ring Sky and ask although most of their customer reps probably wouldn't know anyway.

I recently upgraded to MySky, and asked this question.

I was told it would cost me $40 should I want to restore to the old arrangement (which was a small silver Pace Sky decoder).

So far, (after an initial problem - solved by a reset of the MySky box), I am very happy with MySky.

I suspect that the OP is using the card in a card reader on a HTPC which requires the 45xx cards.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Ahh, OK - I was probably on the wrong wavelength then :)

Indeed I am Smile

Simply put, I'm paying Sky for a PVR unit and some HD channels.  I occasionally use the HD channels and do not use the PVR system.  If I could be certain that I would keep the 45xxx card then I would kill everything, use the HTPC and save some money.
