We have a Startsat SR-B1 freeview decoder linked up to a SKY satellite dish where we holiday. For longer stays we cart our MySki HDI decoder with us to watch SKY

I have only just noticed the Startsat has a slot for a smartcard. Would i be able to take put the SKY card in the Startsat and to watch SKY. Easier to take a card on holiday rather than the SKY box

If it is possible, is it hard to set up?

Also, i thought i made this post yesterday but can't find it on the forum so i if i have doubled up i apologise in advance

Thanks

Looking at the specs I'd highly doubt it. There are however plenty of STB's out there that will function with a Sky card, however most need a newer 45xx card.

Thanks. Does the 45xx refer to the code on the back of the card? Ours has a code NZ45xxxx on the back

So i probably have the right card but the wrong decoder by the sound of it. I know it is a budget decoder, but what part of the specs told you it wouldn't work?
