Has anyone else noticed the Sky HD IR receiver is weak? Have the original and a logitech remote and you basically have to stand in front and not more than 3 meters away for the remote to work.

Do I just have a dodgy unit or what?

Yes (to all questions). Don't have to stand right in front of it so you probably have a bad unit, but it is weak anyway. I do however like how the STB can tell you when the batteries need to be replaced.

You can try wiping clean the controller and the STB IR windows.

Used to get it randomly
Restarting the STB might help.
Avoid putting the STB on any reflective surfaces or behind a cabinet door.
