Looking at getting skytv but prices are outrageous for a decent package!

What other options are out there?Preferably without monthly charges.

So far I have identified :
Roku
Igloo
Ezyflix
Skytv
Free view (lame)

Are there any other providers out there worth looking at?

Fetchtv is also arriving.....not sure when? any good?

Personally I am quite liking the Igloo we got for my parents place. Although it is basically Sky UHF you don't need to actually pay anything past the initial cost of the box if you don't want to.

It also allows for home box office rentals through either wifi or ethernet. (As in movies, tv shows and one off sports events) of course you pay for those it's still pretty good.

I think the quality is not too bad too and you can also plug in a flash drive and setup live pause.

Downside so far is it needs the UHF aerial but that's not so bad for most places. As for the Sky decoder it replaced it is far better as my parents Sky was blocky at times and also didn't show the picture full screen no matter how I fiddled with the options on all things they missed a few inches off each side and considering it was $45ish a month it really was a joke.

I think Sky really is only for those who like to pay for the extras as the basic only package is pretty average for what you pay for in all ways.

Other options I can think of:

- Quickflix, although the content range is poor and the pricing steep compared to similar packages overseas.
- Netflix and/or Hulu plus with a VPN
- Your local video rental (if there is still one) if you are after movies, despite the inconvenience $1 a DVD for week-day viewing is pretty hard to beat for casual movies.
- Fatso.
