Before I buy yet a second antenna to try, does anyone else have reception issues in Southland when it's raining on the Sky channels with Igloo? I'm using a UHF directional of about 14-19dB gain and it's facing Forest Hill vertically polarised.

I keep getting picture errors on the Sky MUX when it's raining but when I go to diagnostics and tv signal, it's always 98-100% quality with around 35dB SNR. When I switched to the TVNZ and Mediaworks MUX's there's doesn't appear to be an issue. I have mounted the antenna on top of the roof peak up a 2 metre pole.

I was wondeing if the SD channels from Sky down here are receiving off satellite dish at Forest Hill vs the Freeview HD channels perhaps coming in via fibre or something else? I find it strange it only appears to effect the Sky channels on Igloo when it's raining.

I might try a bigger antenna if I need to, but I've seen HD working on a wire hanging out a TV here in Invercargill. By comparison, I have a 6 element director, 14 element reflector directional grid. Rain penetration is not an issue, I use water tight PPC connectors wrapped in self amalgamating rubber tape and a weather boot on the antenna and all new RG6.
