Hi,

If you purchase a Box Office movie on Sky, can you record to your MySky decoder? Do you have to watch it to record it or anything?

Also, is it possible to record any movies you have recorded onto USB/Memory Card etc?

When I tried recording a Box Office movie to my Panasonic Recorder it wouldn't record as the movies are copy protected.
I don't have MySky so can't comment on it's abilities but I would think copying to a USB stick or HDD would be impossible.
Better to look for it online and download or stream, or buy the BluRay.

you can record box office movies and you have a set time to watch them after been recorded 24-48 hours not sure which. and you cant record onto your hard drive using my sky

They are not going to allow you to make a recording as you haven't bought a physical copy of the movie, just the right to view it.

Sounds like macrovision. A video stabiliser, or similar, should overcome it.

No, it's not Macrovision. They use some other method like Freeview used to. Not worth watching from Sky unless you have HD ticket though as the quality is crap and the recorder only records stereo sound. Easier to download or stream and get surround sound as well. Wait a year and you can usually get the Blu Ray for under $10 anyway.
