few questions someone with better knowledge than me might be able to help

recently purchased a panasonic DMR-XW440GZK dvd recorder 

i can get it to work but cant pick up any signal its obviously the way im connecting it
the tv is a last generation rear projection tv i know its old but still works fine and ive hooked it up can get everything else to work besides sky running through it
can someone give me an idea of how to hook this up so i can record tv
