Hi,

I'm just wondering does Sky still have door-to-door sales consultants?

I'm in the Wellington Area, and already with Sky but was seeing if I could hop onto a better deal etc?

My current sky deal includes free Mysky a month (Deal with Vodafone adsl2 internet). I'm looking to upgrade to cable with Vodafone, but they don't offer the sky deal, they instead have vodafone tv, so I need to get sky on its own. May even go fibre with orcon etc

Any info in regards to this would be much appreciated, thanks.

You could try ringing 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

This is there telemarketers, not their regular consumer line, so they provide much better deals than sky can.

This is for new customers only AFAIK, but it's worth asking aye!  You could always look to cancel your current account and get a new if you have someone in the house with a different surname ;-)

Have a look at this thread about sky offering a good deal

Hey guys,

Yes it worked! We had sky (under my mums name).

I signed up to the deal under my name (same address) - requested the installation to be done in my bedroom.

Tech called he was coming over, I told him I wanted to install in the lounge (where existing sky is) and he said it was cool. Shortly after he was over and installed it, what a good guy.

I've just got all the old sky accessories in a box waiting to be picked up now :)

edit: substituted language.

That isn't a bad deal. But what does it go up to after 12 months?

It will go back to the normal rate

$48 sky basic
$15 mysky
$10 star plus
$20 something for sports.

You can make adjustments though so take off sports etc once 12month is up.

Mine was:

$48 a month deal:
- Sky Basic
- Mysky+
- Sky Movies
- Sky Sport
It is for 1 year service.  The contract is for 6 months so you can change services after that time or cancel with no early termination fee.

I also added the HD ticket for $10 - so $58 all up.  Still a great deal.

Do these deals give you a sky decoder with hdmi output?

Is sky still charging for the HD unlock ticket?

Presumably existing customers are disgruntled because they have a sense of entitlement, despite being square with Sky every time they pay their bill.
ie sky owes you nothing just because you've been with them for a long time. wink

The mysky decoders are HDMI yes

It's still $10 extra for the HD ticket, but with the deal being $48 for mysky+, sports, movies an extra $10 is not a show stopper
