Hi,

Microsoft released an update to Silverlight (which does auto update). Unfortunately, it seems to have broken the installs for a fair number of people.

You'll have to uninstall it and re-install it - then it will work again.

This is why online only exclusivity of programming is an issue. For the non technical people out there having issues like this is a real pain.

Thanks guys
I guessed it was Silverlight as the version installed was a newer version that what was on Microsoft's site. I removed it and installed the older version and all sweet note.
One would think a company the size of MS would learn

Just to pre-empt the question: Yes, we are looking at Silverlight alternatives.

I had the same issue mentioned in this thread. I uninstalled then re-installed then sadly lightbox decided to add another device to my account for doing so, and then wouldn't let me watch lightbox.

I ended up having to remove one for the month (seriously that limit is ridiculous). I tinker with my computers a fair bit, I tried windows 8 on my laptop/PC didnt like it switched back to windows 7, then theres 4 "devices" registered when in reality only two computers. Actually there was 5/6 because I had been using lightbox on the PC under windows 7 before I tried windows 8.

Anywho, I love it :P

I had the exact same issue. Just raise a support ticket with them and it'll be sorted out for you :)

Our content partners expect us to make sure that a customer can't share their account freely with other people and require that we do device registration and limit the number of devices a customer can access the content via.

I understand that.

However, if Microsoft puts forth an update which suddenly makes me have more than one device in my household (when really I don't have but two computers), makes me more of a threat too your "content partners" then really something seems amiss.

I will open a ticket complaining about me having more devices registered and also that lightbox is being held hostage by the "content partners"

Yep, totally get that. Device registration on computers is an uneven thing, with a fair amount of potential issues. We're looking at simplifying it where we can, but there's pretty limited scope for us to work it. At least we can help resolve the issues when they crop up.
