First up great forum. I'm completely dumb when it comes to technology, and this question has probably been asked a million times before, but can't see any reference through the technobabble.

I have my sky. I have wireless broadband from vodafone model SHG1500.

I want to run signals through my modem to a tv in our bedroom. What do I need to accomplish this or can it not be done? Is it as simple as plugging an Ethernet cable from the tv into the modem and getting a reciever? Thanks in advance

Generaly TVs dont generate a 'picture signal' out of the Ethernet port on the back of them that can be used on another TV. The port is used to get content to the TV from an external (to the TV) source

You either need to use an HDMI out or a Coax connection between the two - as above there are lots of discusions on these forums on how to do both

The ethernet port is not to connect to an 'extermal source' as suggested in the above post.

The ethernet port on the tv is for accessing internet using the smart tv functions, eg streaming youtube, skype, etc..

What you want to achieve is not possible using your existing adsl modem/router.

I'd suggest either a separate set top box, or run an hdmi splitter with either a long hdmi cable or an hdmi wireless sender.

Ethernet/modem cannot take your tv signals from your tv to another tv.

you will need another solution

maybe run a separate wire from mysky to your other tv, and run a infrared receiver from mysky to your other room. that way you ocan watch and control from the second room. but the same picture will show on the first room/tv

Can't be done as you suggest but something like this will work.
