I have noticed that in nearly every forum thread about Sky someone complains about the price, channels etc. I though that instead of cluttering up discussions with improvements etc, they could be posted here and maybe Sky might see it or something.

I'll start, I would love it if you could add channel packs for certain periods of time i.e Sports for a week, Movies for a month, more flexibility.

I think a lot of people, including me, see Sky as a greedy money machine dedicated to charging as much as possible for as little as possible. On that basis, I doubt they would be receptive to suggestions for improvement, but I will offer some anyway:

1. cut back on the endless, constantly repeated promos
2. instead of recycling the same four films forever, try adding a little more to the mix
3. get rid of the commercials. We are already paying through the nose for the programming
4. allow for customer feedback. Put a letters column in the guide, if you dare
5. improve technical quality, most Sky offerings are still in the dinosaur era
6. get rid of the multiple paywall layers
7. reduce prices

I can think of more, but this will do for a start.

Sell me a hardware-less Sky TV package for $30-40 a month that streams 1080P60 (5mbps+) and has full on demand functionality (including sports replay)

Please make the mySKY GUI HD. It looks rubbish on my 60 inch TV.
Please let me hide channels within the guide. I don't get movies, so why can't I hide those channels. I don't ever, EVER, want to watch TLC so please let me hide it!
Please make the titles of the Formula 1 Grands Prix constant so I can set a damn series link! Very frustrating that I can series link the Practice sessions, and Qualifying, but not the race itself.

And a super geek pet peeve, please fix the Discovery channel promo animated scene that shows a rocket blasting off, and releasing the aerodynamic shrouds while it's still under thrust. Ridiculous.

It should just be HD regardless, for starters. As it is, you have to pay the like $50 base fee, then pay for actual channels, then pay for a MySky HDI, then pay for an HD ticket. So its about $150/month and there's less content, and less quality, with less control over it, than having a few online subscriptions. Literally the only thing they seem to offer is exclusive rights to some sports in NZ. And they charge through the nose for it.

Stop charging extra for the HD ticket
Allow people to choose which channels they want and price the package appropriately
Improve the quality/reliability of Sky Go
An option to buy sport by the tournament - I don't want to pay for 20 different sports on 4 channels when all I want is the Black Caps games

+1 All good suggestions.

Even if problems 1 to 6 were all sorted, the product would still be grossly overpriced.

Less quantity + more quality + lower price = more sales

All channels unbundled, pick and chose exactly what you want.
HD is standard and free
One subscription gets you "traditional" sky AND HD/4k streaming for the same price. (isky is terrible, Neon is not much better)
Better and cheaper PPV options for sport. I have zero need to have sky sports for instance, but I would happily pay $5 to watch an all blacks game or a UFC match.

Channel bundling is a good idea, but I imagine the ARPU needs to be maintained. Its not going to be, divide $100 by 30 channels so its $3 per channel per month. They would have an ARPU to maintain, so the overall price may not get much cheaper, but if you can change the lineup somewhat that would be good. They could say charge $65 a month for everything, but the ones that just want Basic will whine. Can;t please everybody. But from what I gather the content on Sky is great, its just the price. Aside from price its the best out there by far?

Fix Prime, put it in HD and provide subtitles, and make Prime TV content available on demand, all basic stuff that should of been done in 2009!

Dump the useless igloo service (with junk hardware) and shift all users over to a low end sky package.

Give the freqs BACK to the NZ Govt so they can use them for an Expanded Freeview service.

+1 for channel unbundling. We watch TV One, 2 and 3 via Sky (No Freeview device), sports, movies and documentaries, and about eight other channels max., so that's all I want to pay for.
+1 for broadcasting a show in HD it it's available and no extra cost for HD Ticket.
+1 for stopping those endless, repetitive self-promoting ad.s.
Apart from a one-off charge for the second decoder, it shouldn't cost any more per month for multi-room.
Do away with Box Office. Most of the same movies are on On Demand when you can watch them whenever it suits you. Why have Box Office when you can only watch them at Sky's scheduled times?
Reward loyal existing customers by giving them the same offers made to lure new customers. For example, if they're offering six months free movies if you sign this month they should also offer six months free movies to people who have been with them for [randomly chosen "loyalty" number] five years.
Get Premier League football and the Aussie Rules back. OK, so this last one is just personal but my passion for the Premier League is one of the reasons I signed with Sky in the first place.

Pure streaming based option with apps for smart tvs, consoles, android, iOS, windows. I dont want to have to install a dish on my house (the installers always do a terrible job) and I don't want to pay extra for more decoders throughout the house.

Streaming would need to be on demand but also live feeds, so you can just turn on whatever is currently playing in the background.

I know they wont do these things, but that might get me interested in sky (doubt it, but it might).

Ever heard of Global Mode, or DNS proxies? I wouldn't exactly call the content on Sky great. For everything they do have, there is a better alternative overseas. Even the Soho programs can mostly be found for less (sometimes free) on streaming sites.
