Just had a guy come to the door trying to sell Sky. Free install, $7 a week( can't remember how long for) and free MySky.
Told the guy will stick with Netflix and Freeview.

Anyone else been offered that deal?

Sky basic costs over $49 per month - $7 per week sounds much too good to be true undecided

That will be their most basic package won't it? Also I suspect it will only last a few months, after which you will then need to pay full price for the reminder of the contract.p, which is likely to be at least 12 months. You really have to check all the details.

I do not wish upon anyonebut Sky makes Comcast look like angels - from pricing, device restrictions, channels, support (yes even horror stories to cancel) everything seem pale by comparison.

Sky will say anything to have you believe them (blaming content providers, market size etc) but it is poor excuse for a rubbish offering with increasing alternatives

Day after NZ wins RWC, SKY will be getting a phone call to cancel. I suspect they will be busy that day.

I would agree with you if Freeview had not been all but destroyed in NZ. The only alternatives to Sky in descending order are Netflix, Quickflix, a good book, Light box, a walk outside..... Freeview.

A few SVOD subscriptions would cost more than $7

In their death throws, desperately selling knocked down packages to that ever decreasing number of people yet to discover SVOD.

Sky's been fat, lazy and greedy for too many years. I won't shed a tear.

Obviously you haven't yet discovered CuriosityStream:  https://app.curiositystream.com/

The selection available outside the US isn't that great, but switch on your VPN and see what's on offer ... similar to the Discovery Channel but with better content and no ads.
