Hello
I am having an issue with my Samsung LED TV series 6 where top left corner screen shows 1920x1080 /50i or 720 x 576/50p something else every time i change the channel or switch on the TV. Screen goes blank for 2-3 seconds randomly.

Note: this only happens when i'm watching something on the sky. No problem when i am watching anything online or pendrive or laptop connected to the TV.

Resolution Tried:
Modified HD resolution Output: from automatic to 1080i or 720p
Changed HDMI cable also

Unfortunately problem still exist.

I used to have this issue in the old house i used to live in. Problem still exist after moving to new house.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Fix the Sky decoder output at 1080i, and SAVE settings on exit, it you don't choose SAVE it will default to previous setting. This certainly isn't a TV problem as your source is changing the resolution. I'm not sure why you think the house would be a variable.

Is there a HDMI switch / splitter anywhere in the system?

Test the Sky decoder with another TV.

Note: TV merely displays the signal its given.

Sounds like HDMI 'handshaking' going on, and TV is changing resolutions - hence the blank screen.

It does sound like an issue with the settings on your Sky box - are you certain you have fixed it a 1080i on the box and Saved it (as mentioned above).
Have you got another HDMI cable to try it with too?

Trying on another tv is just a step in the troubleshooting process to localise the problem.
When you say that the screen blanks when you change channels, do you mean changing Sky channels?

If its coming up when you dont change channel, then its renegotiating the HDMI link so it blanks while it does that.

Reasons that cause it usually are a too long cable or some electrical interference causing it to briefly drop out.

okay that can be the reason as my cable is 2.5 meter & the old one was same too!

i can try shorter cable and see if it works
