Just received the new Sky Box (old decoder finally bit the dust).

Box has IP address from WiFi DHCP and LAN indicates OK. The WAN unavailable.

I have a Sophos UTM firewall and log shows the Sky Box was attempting to connect to the server using TCP port 6400.

I have opened that port in firewall rules and WAN now says OK.

However, when I try to download an On Demand show. I see one outward packet in the firewall log, then nothing.  No inbound or any other attempted connection on another port. The box comes up with a message saying the On Demand service is not available, try again later. The show is put is a queue with a download failed tag.

Any thoughts on what other TCP/UDP ports the unit needs, or other issue I might be seeing?

Cheers
J

You shouldn't need a port forward. If you do it suggests your firewall is poorly configured.

You don't need a port forward for the same reasons you don't need to open a port forward for web browsing, as the Sky box won't have any inbound uninitiated traffic.
