While there have been several threads covering the current MYSKY upgrade I have not seen any coverage of UI (user Interface) options.

My MYSKY STB was upgraded last week and the new UI is significantly different, meaning that simply doing what you did before the upgrade is challenging.

However my interest is in being able to change the appearance of the UI. What I have is simply black text on a light grey background (skin?). This is much less clear than the old UI. I have tried using TV contrast/brightness controls but cannot significantly improve readability this way. I have looked at all the settings in the new environment but nothing applies to the UI appearance that I can see.

So does anyone in here know of any way to tweak the new UI appearance?

There is nothing in the settings anywhere in the software on how to change it, I heard they are working on a fix. Due date is next year

I've also found the new slim font harder to read at a distance. Also the white/light-grey theme is annoying at night and or in a dark room, why can't everything just have an option for a 'Night mode' theme.

Yeah, the font is too slim now. Need to make the font bolder, too hard to read now.

We had a curious bug / feature , we watched a pre-recorded program , and found we could not delete it !.. The yellow button was not showing - only for that show .. any other watched/unwatched show under planner could be deleted i.e yellow circle shows - saying DELETE .. just not under the select show we had just watched.!..

Have not rebooted to see if that fixed , but still shouldnt have too ..

Sigh.. bugs/quirks we will have a lot more to come.

When I change channel or fast forward the volume becomes far quieter and only goes back to normal levels over time or when I fully lower volume and raise it again. Anyone else have this?

I have noticed this too - series-linked recorded programmes in a folder sometimes have no yellow button. Strange and a bit annoying. If it persists, we are going to end up with a HDD full of watched unwanted shows.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You can't delete a program when you are watching / in the program anymore.
You need to back right out (i.e. start watching live tv or another recorded program).
I have had the software for a few months now and you soon learn that the back button (above the pause) is your new best friend.

i have noticed the sound is a lot quieter on certain channels after the upgrade, glad it's not just me.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

This is subjective but for me the UI on the Vodafone box has far better than Sky's offering have ever been.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Is there a quick way to turn closed captions on and off? Mrs. Floyd doesn't want them on full-time, but I like to see them for some programmes.
It used to be about 4 button pushes, now it's more than 10.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Yep, just got the upgrade yesterday. As a test I watched an episode of GoT from On Demand and the volume was ridiculously low on that.

Probably not a helpful comment but just to provide a balanced view: I haven't had any problems with the new UI. I seem to be able to read the text just fine and, although it takes a while to learn to drive as there are new functions or options are indifferent places, I've been able to do everything I need.
