So our boxes got upgraded to the new ones, but I run a dreambox.
I put the card in and it still runs/decrypts but every 7-10 secs its stutters. Does anyone else use a dreambox on new sky and has figured this out?

If you have to run heating in winter, you don’t own enough computers.

What version is your card now? Is it a 4500 or another type?

Yeah my card is a NZ4500. Previously I think they were NZ1500 which were causing trouble but not 100% sure on that number. Was your card replaced when you got the new box? Would be interesting if it's working differently with the new box.

Noone would admit to that on here! But I know that there is unrest among those people about these changes happening.

How odd that people are getting angry because sky decided to make a change.

The older dreamboxes are not gonna work on it when they make the change to all services mpg4 and DVB S-2 anyway.

New boxes need new cards, sharing of cards etc I have no comments about however there are new smarts coming in that will correct some of the issues that sky have had in the past with cards/decoders moving from where they should be.

Sorry, do you mean fixing issues Sky have such as taking a card out for too long, or issues relating to card use in HTPC's, Dreamboxes, etc?

It's possible to put countermeasures in place (such as those that TCL did on their cable network) to prevent card sharing. There are reasons (which I won't go into on here) that Sky haven't done this in the past but that's not to say things won't change in the near future.

Ah I see.  I am not interested in card sharing, just using the card in a HTPC.

I would hate to go back to fast forwarding commercials with the My Sky boxes.  Simply skipping 4 minutes using an HTPC is priceless.  Also priceless is not needing the TV remote to change inputs if switching from TV to movies/listening to music/radio or viewing photos etc.  Using Mediaportal.
