Could someone confirm/deny.

I've had the usual mysky HDi which previously was connected by a phone line which I used to book box office PPV movies.

When the fibre was laid I ran ethernet to the back of the sky box and removed (cut?!) the old phone line......

While it seems I can watch the free on demand tv via the Ethernet without any problems when I try to book an on demand box office movie I get an error 033 or 034 with text saying make sure you are connected to internet or a phone line.

While I have working internet it doesnt allow me to book ondemand movies.

I can relay a phone line if needed under the house again if everyone agrees you need a working phone line to book ondemand box office.

Thanks

A.

Are you trying to book the movies on the box office channels or the ones that are already on the drive?

With the ones on that are already on the drive, you hit record and it makes a copy in the planner, as they're stored on hidden part of drive.

I've only gone this far, but then it looks like when you go to play the movie is when you get charged.

My phone is on fibre now, so it would be hopeless if it can't do it through the internet, the upgrade channel works fine through internet only.

Both dont work.

Well they both give you the option to add to planner and an entry is added to the planner view but when I try to watch the movie by selecting it, the error codes appear and I cant get any further,

Get error c033 which if you try to continue give error c034 with text message saying make sure you are connected to internet or phone line..

Tried rebooting the box in case it had forgotten settings but didnt make any difference.

I rang sky a month back and customer service lady said you couldnt use ondemand ppv with ethernet connection, which I though was ridiculous so I thought maybe I got the wrong end of the stick.

?!

Disconnect the jack from the back of the decoder (not the Ethernet), call sky then ask them to see when the box called back last and if not recent ask them to set it to do it, can take up to 24hrs to do this.

Once this is done try it again, after calling sky to confirm its worked.

Phone jack been disconnected for the last month.

Physical phone cable cut and fell back under house (extreme cable rationalisation) didn't see reason to keep it when I ran cat6 from switch.

Free on-demand tv episodes worked fine, only tried ppv on-demand in last fortnight where discovered the issue/problem...

Can try reconnecting phone cables over weekend I suppose.
