Hey guys,

We released a new PS 4 release late last week which should include quicker start up times and few other nice new features.

Please feel free to update us on your experience at home.

There will also be quite a few updates spread over the various platforms in the next few weeks - as always, we are keen to get your feedback

Kind Regards

Paul

Hi Paul,

I am using the PS3 app instead the PS4 app for the below reason:

Unlike PS3, there is no official remote for PS4 and universal remotes are limited with the PS4 - I don't believe any of them support the trigger buttons (L1, L2, L3, R1, R2, R3). I currently use CEC to control the PS4 with a remote control which seems to work in your app for navigation, play, stop, return, etc - but again no trigger button support.

As a result I am forced to use the game controller to access certain important functions (search, watchlist, etc) if using PS4.

Options for using a remote control with PS4 are already extremely limited, but requiring the use of the trigger buttons in your app basically leaves no options other than the game controller.

Are there any plans to add selectable onscreen buttons for search and watchlist etc?

Thanks

Paul

The Lightbox PS4 app is good, although not as slick and easy to use as the Netflix app. It's also crashed for me a couple of times in the month I've had it, whereas I've had Netflix for 6 months and only had to restart it once.

But the worst issue is the sound. The sound is a lot lower in the Lightbox app compared to every other PS4 app or game, and now and then it does this horrible thing where it gets suddenly louder for a few seconds, causing you to frantically reach for the remote to turn it down. Then it goes quiet again and you're turning it up. It seems completely random when it happens, but specifically it was really bad on the first episode of Mad Men, and the last episode of Mr. Robot (with Mr Robot it seemed to happen whenever the show buffered, which was quite a lot for some reason).

I watch all my TV through my PS4 now, so a good app is essential to whether I stick with a service. Lightbox's is pretty good (the picture quality is great), but it needs some big fixes still.

Thanks
