I'm looking at a Media stream box for the lounge TV.  The main use would be Lightbox streaming.  Integration with Harmony Remote would be nice.

I know ATV4 is a contender, but I want to consider some other options as well.

Also looking at: -

- Nvidia Shield Android TV

- Asus Chromebook

- Open to other suggestions

I can highly recommend the MXQ box.   I moved from the WD TV Live box to this and haven't looked back, it streams everything from Sky to Lightbox to on demand TV to movies very well.  as its just an Android box, the flexibility it gives you is great.  Kodi media centre is also great. No learning curve if you have used Android before, my 9yr old master control in minutes, with no instruction, came home to find him watching cartoon network which he "found" in one of the reloaded channels.... and for $45 you can't go wrong.  No sure about the remote integration....

The S905 is the minimum I would consider getting for an android box, anything less and they are laggy slow pieces of crap IME. Sure, $25 is great for a box, but its just too slow.

I have android boxes on most of my TVs now, also good for ip camera viewer stuff too.

I got a tronsmart last time for the garage, S905 chipset, 2 gigs ram (huge benifit for less laggy over a 1gig box) and dual band wifi because I am too lazy to cable and it was about $57 delivered. I have an older one with the S8something chipset that was infuriating, on screen keyboard was really slow to appear most of the time.

Hey. Is the user interface ok and does it run alright? (ie:not laggy)

Can you please confirm if it has the composite video outputs shown in the pic at the bottom??? Something like this would be great in my 8yo daughters room for Netflix/Lightbox/Youtube. She has an old LCD tv with no HDMI inputs and I'm not really wanting to buy her a new TV.
