My Tv is not a smart tv and only has one hdmi input. I'm wanting to get Chromecast to watch netflix in the lounge (previously had a computer connected to the TV but have moved it to my sons room so I can have my lounge back for myself)

Last switch I bought didn't have the power to detect Sky and didn't work. So I thought I would check here and see if anyone else is using a switch for Sky and Chromecast.

Either that or I just buy a smart TV, but I really don't want to right now. (but if I do, are the LG smart tv's ok as there is a special on at Harvey Normans this weekend for one with built in apps)

What do you mean by it didn't have the power to detect sky? We are just using one of these to switch a sky decoder, chromecast, and ps4. You just set it to 1/2/3 depending what you want visible.

I dunno what I mean, when I had the sky plugged into it and the other hdmi device, it picked up the other device, but when I would switch to the input that sky was plugged into it would just flicker on the screen.

mysky has worked with every HDMI switch I can recall trying it with. Have a $7 5 port one at a friends place so they can use a fire tv on the same tv where they only ran one HDMI cable thru the wall to the TV, works fine. Edit: just check that it comes with the USB cable to power it, not all do and will rely on the power from the TV, which sometimes is not enough. Im not sure if that listing has the USB cable or not, I have bought some that have come with it and some that have not had it recently. If you need to cascade the switches, it seems one having power is enough to get them all powered up.

Thanks for your help guys. Helps to know what others are using for similar setups. I think it was a power issue the one I got from dse didnt have a power adapter. And I just returned it and didn't bother finding another one to work. But this works out cheaper than buying a whole new tv.
