No matter what I do, I cannot get my damn MySky box to connect to the internet. It's connected with an ethernet cable to the HG659 next to it.

I've tried DHCP and manually setting the IP details and neither work. Well, if I set it manually it says OK but if I try On Demand it says I have no internet connection.

I could ring Sky I suppose but that's a circle of hell I'm not ready to face yet.

Anyone else had the same or similar issues?

Yes. The Sky man came and replaced the decoder.

I have just started having the same issue.

Wired connection, Sky box won't see the internet. Everything else plugged into that switch will.

I will pull anything I care off and haven't watched yet off the harddrive to my network (in case the decoder gets replaced) and give Sky a call when I get around to it.

You plug the outputs from the sky box into a recorder and press play.

try resetting the whole box and  set up the internet like its the first time, i have a wireless box they sent me and if i dont use the internet daily it stops working and i have to unplug the wireless box and reset everything , it then works until the next time. I have to reset it every time i want to use on demand. a real pain.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Both my MySky HDI and MySky+ boxes do exactly the same thing as this.

After a day or so the MySky loses the ethernet connection to my router (under Internet settingds DHCP, but when I select test (yellow button on remote) it saya no connection until I reset the box and then it is fine again for another day or so.

Why is that?

PS: I have tried using both DHCP and reserved/fixed IP addresses for both boxes. Doesn't help, still have to reset whenever I want to use the On Demand service.
