I tend to find I have to restart the Apple TV daily as going in to lightbox and playing a video will just spin, until I restart.  I do use a DNS service (where the dns is set to my ISPs and I use DNSmasq to use different dns servers).

And last night I saw that modern family wouldn't display any episodes, but suits and orphan black would.  Even after restart the same behavior persisted.

Hey @davidcole - the error with the Modern Family is something we're aware of and are fixing. It's not you. :)

In terms of the need to restart, have you tried disabling the DNS service? Does that help?

Not extensively no.  I should try it for a few days I guess and see if the problem clears up then I could look at my dnsmasq entries and see what applies.

Can I ask what your backend is (you can pm me if you prefer), ie brightcove

I often have the same problem and do not have any dns service configured. I do find that closing the Lightbox app (Double click on the home button and swipe the Lightbox app up) then reopening seems to fix the issue though.

You can do this on an apple tv 4? or is this on another IOS device?  Would be much easier than a system reboot

You can definitely do this on the ATV4, as we have to do it to the Hulu app all the time.

FWIW, we have Unotelly configured directly on our ATV, but don't have any of the issues with Lightbox that you've been reporting.

Hmm wonder is ISP plays a part?  But then I'm Spark Fibre, or gateway?  I use gargoyle router (on a TP Link WR1043ND)

Spark VDSL here. ATV4 connected via Ethernet cabling (and a couple of switches, router, then Spark supplied Huawei modem in bridge mode).
