We're getting our sparky to install a new power outlet (among other things) in the master bedroom where a new TV will be going (wall mounted). We have another TV in the adjacent room where we would like to have a second MySky HDi box.
From this I would like to get our sparky to run Cat6 to the new bedroom TV. I've calculated the distance between the 2 plates to be 4000mm max. Would Cat6 be the best option here with 2 HDMI outlets and the ends? Will I need anything else?
I would ask Sky to do this but my understanding is that they won't do it unless it's an RF feed. Bit unusual in 2017.
We also have a UHF aerial which I would like the sparky to run two feeds from. Here's a photo of the existing aerial. The existing RG59 feed goes somewhere else in the house, no where near a TV.
I would like two RG6 feeds from this. At this stage I'm assuming I need a new aerial in order to get this right. Existing aerial has partial line of sight to Sugarloaf tower here in Christchurch. Distance is 7.4km.
Matchmaster NZ website recommends this aerial based on my location to Sugarloaf. Happy to go with any aerial manufacturer as long as it doesn't rust overnight.
Thanks.
