Hi

Ok so I know sky go isn't the best but has anyone had any issues with sky go live loading but then not playing?

I am go bagpipe fibre, have done seed test and that is checking out fine.

On my macbook running Yosemite 10.10.5 anything live try to watch loads then just hangs.  Have tried chrome on the macbook but still have the same result.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues and could suggest some fixes if any to try.

Thanks

I've had it many times, I either tried another browser or gave up. It's a terrible service

Totally predictable, based on standard behavior over many years. Worthless service.

My tricks for Skygo service. Use another browser, I haven't had much luck with Chrome. Use player.skygo.co.nz. Clear all browser settings relating to skygo.co.nz or player.skygo.co.nz.

Do the above in no particular order and for me I can usually get it going. That's unless it's on Skys end which maybe possible.

The only time I had this issue it was the DNS geo-unblocker setting that was getting in the way. Same symptom of Sky live loading but not playing. When I changed the setting everything worked fine.

Ive found that on an iPad its fine. On a PC (quick MacBook Pro) its not as smooth. Maybe its that the PC has a lot to do, and despite the CPU and graphics card it doesnt quite cut it. iPad or your Android phone probably run the feed as a more dedicated process. And probably is at a lower res which is less data?

You mean 512x288 @ 400 kbps. I don't think so.

When the All Blacks/Lions are playing like last weekend, SkyGo takes you to a splash screen asking you to click here for Lions game or click here for all other sport channels. If you click the Lions game link it uses the older, non-updated video player from last year, the one without the big blue circular play button but with the static square play button. I'm thinking this is how they may be managing excessive loads this year?

SkySortaGo was OK for the opening game. A bit juddery, low def, but watchable. No pauses or buffering like i have had in the past.

I used IE11 +Flash.

Firefox + Flash is absolutely unwatchable. More like stop-motion play.
