This may be a dumb question but here goes..

Are there any blueray or dvb-t boxes with Lightbox support?

In the ideal world Netflix as well. An older friend is looking at streaming and wants to consolidate his existing devices.

Yeah yeah I know, he should buy a TV he bought the last nonsmart hdmi TV without dvb-t and he's not going to let go of it : ).

Probably some of the higher end blue ray (Samsung or Panasonic) Or Apple TV. Cheaper is a Chromecast, but that's tied to a computer/phone for controlling it.

Check lightbox site for supported devices. And anything that's on, Netflix most likely will be also.

Definitely on some Samsung DVD players.

(Model list at bottom of page)

Could also check out the PS4 and Xbox. Might be in that.

Both @davidcole and @KrazyKid are right in the above posts; we do have the Lightbox app on some Samsung Bluray players (see link above). We also have PS3 & PS4 apps. :)

If you are feeling adventurous, an HTPC. Built around a refurbished Windows 7 PC might fit the bill, and not be too expensive.

Install a TV tuner (or two, or as many as you want), HTPC software (NetxPVR or similar) and the optical drive of your choice.

A bit fiddly, but practically infinitely configurable.

Lightbox is listing only Samsung Blu-ray as supported. The Samsungs are over half the price of a TV, new TV would be better, so that's out.

Noel Leeming have a Panasonic blu-ray DMP-BD84GN-K with Netflix support. Any idea if that currently has a Lightbox app?

Chromecast is giving to be the cheapest option by a long way. Could just use an old Android phone as a remote that lives by the TV.
