Some years ago we got Sky with WTV which had a few Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese channels.  What is available now? 

 

 

 

I did a google and a article on the Sky site said channel 155 and 156 are available (both mandarin) but when I look at their channel guide there doesn't seem to be any.  There is a few Hindi and Filipino channels.  Freeview CTV8 is listed but it seems to be all overseas stuff, I couldn't even find a 30min slot of NZ news translated in Chinese.  I think there is a Sunday or Saturday session though.

Their locally produced programming is available on demand at http://video.936.nz/videos.php and is also broadcast on Freeview 28.

 

 

It seems their 30 minute locally produced NZ news programme is currently off-air. It was broadcast weekdays at 6pm.

From my understanding WTV pulled off sky services a year or 2 ago, they were going to stream everything over the net but that was the last i heard about it.

 

However I walk past WTV most days and there are still cars and people working there.

I think WTV launched a service based on the TVB (HK) puck 3 or 4 years ago. There's a picture of it on their service page here http://anywhere.936.nz/

There are a couple of Chinese TV channels on Freeview UHF including the new "Panda TV" which is on channel 37. Channel 28 is the WTV channel and their studio/offices are right behind Sky TV.
