Hi all,

First time post, apologise if this content has been discussed somewhere.

So a couple of weeks ago I got my hands on SkyGo and legitimately watched the All Blacks game through the browser on my Samsung smart TV without any issues whatsoever. Earlier today I went to do the same, except encountered the issue of missing plugin. Tried through my PS4 and same issue. After reading a bit online I discovered I should of never been able to view skygo content through my TV browser at all, so was surprised it has worked.

While I was reading about all this I heard about the new android TV/Kodi boxes, and was wondering if anyone had successfully used these to watch skygo on their TV? Had also heard that skygo app blocks viewing from any device with an hdmi, so any input here before I commit to a purchase would be greatly appropriated.

Thanks in advance

The Sky Go app seems to work ok with my MiniX NEO UI Android box (connected to TV by HDMI).

Not something I would need to do on a regular basis but tried it out of interest and it worked.

The MiniX is a quad core media hub for Android and comes with a propitiatory naked version of Kodi installed (XBMC) although the latest version of Kodi can be downloaded and installed.

Kodi isn't something I use a lot of but it works well on the MiniX.

No Netflix on the MiniX device, is that correct?

Have successfully used SkyGo on a Mi Box 3. It's a wee bit of a PITA as it loads sideways and needs a work around to use a mouse to select the channels. Crashes every so often but that is the SkyGo experience.

I've used SKYGo on my nVidia Shield side loaded, it works fine. A bit of messing around as its designed for touch interface but it can be made to work.

if your looking for a Android Box, this guy has reviewed and charted heaps of the cheap ones you see on aliexress as well as the better quailty ones such as Nvidia Sheild and Mi Box. I find it really helpful, some boxes are total rubbish and some a not.
