It's a long story. A couple of years back, Sky set out to make sure customers who used their sky box in two locations were equipped with LNBs such that you didn't need to mess about with settings each time you moved the box. AFAIK we were running with dual throat LNBs at our Auckland address and our Northland beach house. The box was set to a LO frequency of 11.3 and it worked fine.
This summer, however, the beach LNB fell victim to the fierce northern sun, and the local Sky man replaced it with another one, assuring the Ms that, we would not require any retuning when she bought the box back to Auckland. On returning however I had to change the LO frequency from 10.75 to 11.3 in order to get it working.
Likewise, when we went up north again I had to set it to 10.75.
When we came back to Auckland this time, however, changing the LOF to 11.3 was needed (as expected) but channels 1, 2 and 3 (and only those channels) are pixelated - i.e. like rain fade. I initially suspected sun outage but the problem is persistent.
I've messed with the settings a bit and think I might have improved things, but it's still not perfect. Here's what I have ended up with:
And here's the signals stats:
Any suggestions as to what might not be correct (<mournful expression>) ?
