Hi, I recently purchased a STB 6000 digital recorder and am trying to record Sky after it runs through their rf modulator but my device does not pick up the modulator output as a channel so I can't record or even see it. My TV in my to works perfectly through the modulator on ch 38. Any ideas why this may be ? Thanks, Monkstew.

Because the Sky debauchery is analog signal (quality is substandard by anyones imagination, just a cheap solution). Maybe convert HDMI to DVB-T (makes the signal look like a Freeview mux) and try again.

Tried composite instead?  (the RCA AV in... yellow for video, red/white for audio)?

?? STB only has analog outputs, it has no ability to record an analog signal from sky decoder composite or via analog RF modulator.

Think the tuner in the STB is a digital TV tuner and not for analogue tv transmissions/modulators

The STB6000 is a DVB-T digital TV receiver. It's not in any way capable of doing what you want to do.

My bad. I’ve seen sky boxes that have composite or scart sockets (which you can convert to composite).
