Just wondering if anyone is aware of plans for Lightbox to offer DD 5.1 ?

 

An old thread here was asking the same thing back in 2015 https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=171&topicid=166052    

 

The Lightbox website says "Lightbox does not currently support 5.1 audio yet."

 

Does anyone have any updated info on this?

Yes update still no support for 5.1 surround sound

Don’t think they have any plans, I’ve given up on them.

Expect a long wait, if ever.

Perhaps it's a race between Neon and Lightbox to provide the lowest-quality settings of an NZ VOD provider?!

 

At least the PQ of Lightbox is acceptable; isn't Neon still not even HD?

 

I'm not willing to pay money for either until both HD and DD are provided.

I rent my movies from Google Play, and then Chromecast to my home theatre. I won't be renting from Lightbox until they sort out 5.1 audio.
