I logged an online fault ticket for our Sky Box at 11.05am yesterday. The box had been randomly powering off and on and freezing when searching the planner. Sky responded by 5pm and the Sky Box was replaced today circa midday. 24 hour turn around is impressive. Well done Sky.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Interesting - One of our boxes MySky Plus is doing this and just haven’t got around to ringing Sky. More due to the thought of the whole process taking forever but this is good to know.

Did the replace it with a newer model box?

One of our boxes completely freeze at times and I have to force reset the entire box.

Depending on the issue most of the time they do swap it out.  If you have a mysky they normally swap for another mysky however you may end up with a skybox (built in wifi) depending on what the tech has onboard

I had a hard drive fail on one of mine.
Rang them up, they said a Sky person was in the area and decoder was replaced 3-4 hours later.

Probably luck that someone in area but still impressive. I also find their CSR’s know their stuff.

Another time had failing LNB, they got me to change some settings, got another year and a half out of it before complete failure and think that was replaced under 24 hours as well.

Best I've seen was about 90 minutes when our HDD Failed. They happened to have someone doing an install down the road which was fortunate for us. What was impressive was they knocked on our door at 7:30pm.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Thanks - Anyone know if the new boxes are faster?

My HD died on mine yesterday.  Can't get it fixed until Friday some time.  Not a biggy as the STB still works for viewing.
