Hi

Has anyone had any luck with splitting the Sky HDMI output to multiple TV's?

Cheers
David

Goosey:

have you looked at PB tech?

Hi, not a PBTech...  but have tried splitters (without any luck) - hence keen to know if others are doing it, and with wat gear?

The HDMI splitter solution will work if the TVs are near each other, but you probably want a Cat5e/6 extender if you need to cover a distance greater than a few meters.

Other options are to use a DVB-T modulator, or if you're using an IPTV setup, a h.264/h.265 encoder to get Sky in to the system.

I have a 1 in 4 out splitter and 10, 15 and 20m HDMI cables all work fine. Note if you have 4K TVs and one on splitter with lower resolution then they all drop to the lowest K resolution eg 1920x1080.

We successfully used one of these for years:

Ive tried all sorts of splitters on mysky boxes (not the new ones yet) and not had any problems at all. Actually there was one problem with a dirt cheap one that didnt come with a powersupply and claimed not to need it. But it had a barrel jack for DC power and once it was given the 5v it desired, it also worked fine.

Some of the splitters also had the neat side effect of removing HDCP so that the output could be captured.

One thing to watch is that on the cheaper splitters, they only negotiate with one port, usually the first one so if nothing is plugged into that then you will not get any output as the rest just get a copy of the bitstream (with protection removed) - others have some logic in there to figure out the lowest common specs and then repoer that back to the source. I hate those ones because everything blanks out briefly when any display is turned on or off.

I'm using a cheap aliexpress HDMI splitter on my mysky box (not the new one) with no issues.
