I do quite a lot of paid market research stuff, and I just got offered one about possible new Sky packages.. Now most of them were the same old rehashed overpriced ripoff, but one of the plans was Sky, including Sport, for sub $2/week.

For all that I really dislike them as a company I think even I'd be seriously tempted at that price. Here's hoping it's a sign that they are starting to appreciate that the new paradigm price point is sub $20/month for all the things.

Do Sky have an Apple TV app yet?

It would be so much better than tacking a satellite dish on the roof, or battling the unreliable Vodafone TV box.

Wouldn't read to much into Survey questions.

I've fulled out many Sky ones, and nothing much changes. Unless my answers are different to the majority, they do their own thing at end of day.

They're not going to give Sports etc around $8 a month if there's no profit no matter how many people want it.

Neon I think yes and their dedicated sport app sky sport now.

Neon is probably Netflix like. Ie choose your show. And I don’t think has UK tv, discovery etc.
Sky sport now is an ip version of the 8 linear sport channels. I don’t see a lot of on demand in there. But I got it for $39 for 4 months in cypher Monday.

I completed a survey about Sky when I disconnected in 2015, one of the options I selected was to "pick your own channels", yet here we are 4 years later and it's still not offered. I know there are reasons why, but puzzled as to why they would ask when they know they can't do it/won't offer it.

is there not.  That’s weird.  I though that was their premier viewing platform for ip.

But that’s what they need to be positioning for hbo and other content on all platforms
