Has anyone else noticed/experienced this app having stopped working on the Mi Box?

I have 2 of these boxes and Lightbox produces a screen error message saying 'we are currently experiencing problems and will be back later'. But Lightbox works fine via a browser so it is something to do with this app.

I have cleared cache and data but still have the problem - on both boxes.

I'll check mine when the family get off the TV...

However; I would bet that its cause Lightbox's Android TV app is now at 1.0.5 and maybe they've changed their API or encoding mechanism/stream and 1.0.2 does not support that. Best to get an updated version of the app and test that.

Lighbox states its at v2.03 internally on the help page and is working fine on one of my Nvidia Shield TVs; no issues here

Okay, so problem solved. My IP address was not current in my DNS4ME settings.

I did not even think of this as I don't have Lightbox turned 'on' as a service in DNS4ME as I am in NZ at present. So very surprised a DNS spoofing service affects Lightbox in those circumstances.

But still: @nzkc where did you get Android TV v1.0.5 apk from? Originally I got v1.0.2 direct from Lightbox via an email as they have not officially released an Android TV version of the app ie 1.0.2 was like a beta.

And @Benoire are you sure v2.03 is a specific Android TV app version and not just a standard Android app for tablets and phones? The Android TV version is a leanback launcher and can be completely controlled by a remote eg the MiBox remote.

In fact Lightbox help page specifically says they do NOT support Android TV boxes - yet. Hence my comment about the version I have (v1.0.2) being an unofficial release that they provide no support for.

Cheers all.

@steve2222 - Spark have a tendency to have updates deployed within the app container without needing to redownload from Google; e.g. my Spark Sport app was the first APK but its now running in the 1.6ish version numbering... I installed an older lightbox that was also in the 1.05 I think but under help it states 2.03 and it is the Android TV one found on the Sony / Smart X units as the APK was grabbed from a sony tv.
