Just sent the following message to Sky.

Hi there. Can you cancel my subscription please as from the end date of my current subscription period.  The reason is because I have lost satellite signal to my MySky decoder as from 8.00 pm on Tuesday 7 April and there is no apparent problem.  I cannot get the matter resolved any time soon because of the lockdown and non availability of service personnel.  And even if I could my near new high end expensive LG 4K TV that cost mega bucks and that I watch Sky on has broken down too and I can't get that fixed either for the same reason!!!
So can you just cancel my subscription please in the meantime until I can work my way through this mess.

How did you send this message? Wouldn't be better to call customer services and talk to someone, as companies are notoriously bad at acting on emails or other messages?

Yep, tried that. It didn't work either. Have found in the past that Sky are reasonably good in dealing to email queries. I may be proven wrong now though.

I don't really understand what is going on here but at about 2.30 pm today, 8th July, I noticed my Sky TV satellite reception has returned. Is there a satellite outage or something because that's all I can think of.

Not that we are made aware of, this could possibly be your dish and it's set up. sometimes over time the Quality of your dish becomes weaker, which requires some attention to your LNB which is at the front of the dish.
Sometimes they need readjusting to increase the quality or a full replacement. However as this is SKY's equipment, you will need someone after the lockdown to get a SKY installer to have a look.

It's also good to hear that your nice TV is working again.

I aim to misbehave.

Unfortunately, no. I have pinched the small screen TV from my wife's hobby room to watch in the lounge instead of the big screen 4K LG.  It's still not working.   8-(

8th April yeah?

Its far more likely to be your LNB than the decoder. if you can, check for spiders/crap on the arm that would indicate a "resident".

Secondly, if the LNB itself is wandering, is it worse in the hotter parts of the day, and returns at night? If so, when it goes out, get the hose and give it a dousing and see if it comes back (this very forum schooled me on this procedure)

Edit-I'm like 9 beers deep and moving to Whisky
