As per the title, anyone know how to do this? I can't find anything in the menus and its annoying needing to turn the box on each time.

Have a look in the Recording menu

Recording/Recording Setup/Auto Standby




If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

Edit: Beaten to the answer while composing.

 

Not exactly the most intuitive place for this setting imo.
