Recently had fibre install & lounge MySky box now has direct ethernet connection to Spark modem.

Every other day the internet connection to the MySky box drops & it seems that the only way to restore it is to push the RESET button on the MySky box. Box resets, & connection re-establishes like nothing was ever wrong only to drop off a couple of days later.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?

Thanks in advance

Put a static IP on STB.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I thought I'd done that, but probably doing it wrong. Modem is Spark VRV9517 if any guidance available.

Tried that. Doesn't seem to work.

The Sky box Internet test says it's connected, but every evening (after resetting the box) it just reverts to not being able to connect.

I'd thought I'd tracked this one down to some bad typing by me, but re-checking the Sky box and Spark modem settings this same issue has resumed.

Everything's a good as it can be, I think, but nope.

The only way it appears to resolve (temporarily) is to reset the Sky box.

Any hint's where I may be wrong?

Can anyone who also uses Spark Smart Modem & Sky box also share their Sky Internet setup just in case I've got it totally wrong?

Thanks

Hi, I'm a sky tv technician, the issue will be the hard drive starting to fault/fail. The hard drive runs several systems in the decoder-regardless if you do or don't have the recording service. If you do record, watch anything you want to catch up on and book sky for a decoder swap...it will be at no charge. Good luck

Off topic.

Would that possibly also explain several instances where I'm fast-forwarding, the picture pauses, the MySky box resets itself?

Yes, exactly! Other symptoms are- random pixilation, intermittent atmospheric conditions, slowed response on the remote, banner info missing when changing channels, info missing from the guide, part recordings, recordings freezing, and obviously failed recordings... no to mention internet connection issues. Obviously if your modem (any modem) hasn't had its settings drastically modified when using an ethl cable is always plug and play like anything that uses this method for internet connection. I hope this helps.
