my MIL has moved into a residential home that has a distributed antennas  system into the apartments.

She has a Mysky box from her old house and we went to install it but it could not find the signal

The staff were vague but said something like "the decoder needs retuned" - they had no technical details as to what

Nor did Sky who were as usless as a chocolate tea pot - (now I know why I left them!)

Does anyone have a suggestion to what needs retuned??

I suspected it was the LNB LOL frequency

Someone else  mentioned 10745 as the right frequency??

10745 isn't the right frequency, LNB LO would be either 10750 or 11300 MHz assuming the typical LNBs used in NZ.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Or maybe redistributing on DVB-T channels.

Still the same,

Parents moved into a commercial apartment block with a Distributed Sky setup... Decoder from their old residential home set up worked fine --ONCE the LNB frequency was changed... in that case I think it was 11300, but YMMV

I painted the barge boards on our last house. Easy, detach the Sky dish then screw it back on, no deal. I got Sky to send a guy out, sorted.

Sounds like you need to figure out what the rest home is "distributing".

If they were planning it right then they should be distributing both DVB-T and DVB-S

(T being free to air TV / UHF and S being satelite).

The following is assuming the message you are receiving on the screen is no signal / atmospheric conditions

First ensure the cable is installed on Tuner 1 leg of inputs of the sky box

Try changing the LNB setting by pressing setup on the remote

You will see “FAVOURITE CHANNELS”
In the menu screen highlighted in BLUE

press 0759 on remote

press select

You will see “LNB SETUP”
In the menu screen highlighted in BLUE

Press select again to access LNB Setup

You will see “LNB SETUP”
In the menu screen highlighted in BLUE

Scroll down to "High Band LO Frequency”

If you see 11300 is already there, enter 10750
If you see 10750 is already there, enter 11300

Press the small green button on the remote to save
Press the SKY button to return to viewing

If that doesn't work, you'll need to confirm the satellite signal is distributed to the outlet you're plugging into. Look for an outlet that has an F type connector on the wall like the ones coming out of the sky box first (this isn't exclusive or required for satellite, it's just standard practice)

This really is the first key step - understanding what is currently available via the aerial outlet(s).

Do other people there have Sky boxes?

thanks I suspect its DVB-S signal as the antenna apparently connect to a TV or Sat RX

and yes there are a few other MySky boxes connected

I will change the LNB frequency first - thanks for the suggestions

lets see how we go with those :)
