Have had Sky HDI booked for almost a month now to happen on the 27th Jan. Called today to confirm it was on and was told it was( by HDI helpdesk). Spoke with Sky customer services about another matter and was told that my install was not going to happen as there aren't enough decoders!!!! Lady I spoke with suggested a date in March. When I explained that I had just confirmed with HDI that it was all go for the 27th, she was confused and suggested I cancel my original install date for the  date in March. I told her to leave it as is. Called HDI desk back and they confirmed they were running behind but by only 2 days and would leave my original install date as the 27th. Not only am I confused but so are they....Any similar experiences or any suggestions?

Booked mine around the 19 Dec- Auckland based- that might make the difference in waiting time.

I would suggest phoning Sky and asking to be put on the standby list. If someone else cancels, you may get a call asking if you're available that day to fit it in. It's a longshot, but worth a go.
