Woke up this morning, turned on Sky HDI and it started to retrieve an Update, and I haven't seen an update since when the installer came and installed My Sky HDI into our House.
Anyone have any information about the Update?
Anyone else get the Update?
Cheers

My decoder has rebooted overnight so I would say mine has too.

The release is 2.0.10 and is mostly bugfixes. The most noticeable enhancement is the addition of an option to add 20 minutes to the end of a recording in the planner (and to further series-linked recordings). You're also able to change the background music to the EPG (or silence) to be the live audio from the channel you were watching before entering the guide (as per non-PVR decoders). You will also see that the default start time on recordings will be the guard time, not zero minutes, so you're more likely to hit the start of the programme by default.

Is there a chance that Sky could have altered the parameters for HDCP handshaking in the update? My 4 year old Pioneer Plasma has suddenly stopped accepting an HDMI signal from MySkyHDi. Cable swapping, rebooting of display and decoder has got me nowhere. I've gone from a beautiful Hi Def image to black.
Oh the pain!

If there is an HDCP problem, and you haven't fiddled with the default error message parameters in the setup menu, there should be a HDCP handshake error message. I suspect something else. Do you have another HDMI connected source to try out (like a PS3, BD player etc.)?

grr I hate when the HDCP handshacking fails.

Happens sometuimes to me when the HDi box reboots, once it comes back online any HD channel shows a HDCP error.

All I do to fix it is turn the power to the HDi box off at the wall and leave it off for 10 minutes. Turn it back on and works like a charm :)

Connected dvd player via HDMI and that didn't work either, yet it works on the 2nd HD TV in the house, as does SKYHDi. Looks like its the Pioneer plasma. damn...

Do you have a series 5 or 6? From memory both models also had HDCP issues in the UK that Pioneer accepted were firmware related and did release updated firmware to fix the issue. I've got a series 6 myself and when I purchased it a few years ago I spoke to Monaco who did tell me that they fully backed the TV, were aware of the HDCP issues that had arisen and would provide firmware updates if neeeded for the TV's.

Might be time to ring them and discuss the issue. If you have a play in Google I'm sure you'll be able to find some info - Pioneer weren't the only manufacturer in the UK to have HDCP issues with TV's that were HDCP compliant.

Edit: Have a read of this thread and this here from Pioneer

Thank you SBiddle for you comprehensive and helpful info. I've spoken to Monaco and have to send the media receiver box to Auckland. Screen is 5 series. Cheers

You can check if you have the latest firmware by going in to the System Set Up Menu I think

Press 'active'
1. System Setup
4. System Settings
3. System Details

Software version (on my decoder) shows 55.2.0.10.145. The "2.0.10" is the latest release.
