since they give you (as far as i know) an HDMI cable, then they wouldn't give you an optical as well, that's your problem.  Sky with just give you the bare minimum they can get away with to get you going.

its weird but on tv3 there are more adds in 5.1 than programs , and you can tell because all of a sudden its like you have just turned the stereo on and the volume up really annoying

not much of their sport seems to be in true 5.1.

Of all things, the NFL just seems to be in stereo.  Odd considering that Fox, CBS etc pride themselves on 'true' 5.1 surround.

All of the Australian Cricket is in 5.1 (test series and one-day series) so expect the Chappell-Hadlee Series to be in 5.1 too.

[The tackling in the Pittsburgh-Baltimore NFL game wasnt in 5.1 (as it was on ESPN) but was loud enough to make you feel like it it could've been]

yeah, the cricket is in 5.1, is quite nice.

as for the NFL, I was talking about the HD games on SS1HD or SS2HD sourced from Fox, CBS or NBC, not via ESPN.

Sadly ESPN have the rights to the Super Bowl, so it will be SD 4:3 coverage Cry

Its been confirmed..... Superbowl on both SS1 (HD) and ESPN (SD).

Steelers.... Cardinals..... Steelers..... Cardinals.   The might of Pittsburgh vs the Cinderalla story.

Pity that they moved Super Bowl from the last Sunday in January to the first Sunday in Feb.  Used to be nice on AK aniv  day to sit back and watch it.  Now it's on a work day..

glad to see it's on ESPN too, hopefully we'll get the host broadcaster feed, rather than ESPN rubbish.

just checked the sky guide and the superbowl is no longer on sky 1 live in HD they have it later as highlights, so it looks like its ESPN or nothing
